We continue to gather both online, in person and in hybrid format. Mishkan's Hashiveynu Committee continues to meet, welcome input from our community, and update our covenant for in-person and online programming for the sake of maximal inclusion and everyone's safety. All congregants and guests must agree to this covenant to ensure the health and safety of all.

Registration and attendance for any in person gathering requires agreeing to the following Covenant for Safety and Well-Being:

  • All who wish to gather indoors in person should be up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations. Some groups or activities may require proof of vaccination or masking.
  •  We will not attend in person when not feeling well, within five days of a positive COVID test, or if recently exposed to another person who has tested positive. The City of Philadelphia and the CDC both recommend isolating for a minimum of five days after testing positive, when not feeling well, or if recently exposed, and remaining masked in public for ten days.
  •  Masks are encouraged but not required, unless otherwise specified, when gathering indoors for Mishkan Shalom services and programs. Masks may be removed by the program or service leader, and when eating in designated areas indoors. Masking outdoors is optional.
  • Pre-registration/RSVP of all in-person attendees is required for contact tracing purposes.
  • We will continue to offer the majority of services and programs on Zoom when in person as well to ensure access.
  • Anyone hosting an official Mishkan program or gathering at their home or other indoor location needs to specify in the event information whether the event is indoors or out, whether mask-wearing will be required, whether unvaccinated people may attend, and how safety for all will be maintained
  • Anyone renting the building for private events is encouraged to follow Mishkan Shalom COVID policies. The renter needs to specify in the event information what policies will be followed and how safety will be maintained.
  • If you should test positive for COVID-19 after visiting our building or a Mishkan event, please contact our office manager, Maria, maria@mishkan.org or 215-508-0226 as soon as possible.

The Hashiveynu Group continues to monitor and take guidance from the COVID-19 guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Philadelphia Department of Health and may further restrict in person activities should pandemic conditions change.
